What is Your Cancellation Policy?
Our cancellation policy varies depending on your reservation type and whether your reservation falls on a holiday or special event. All cancellations must be made by phone during business hours. And cancellation-processing fees will also be charged on cancellations made outside of the cancellation window.
RV & Tent Sites:
Three-day advance notice required or forfeiture of reservation’s deposit
Cancellation Processing Fee: $10
Cottages:
10-day advance notice required or forfeiture of reservation’s deposit
Cancellation Processing Fee: $25
Major Holiday / Spring Break / Special Event Cancellation Policy:
All cancellations are subject to forfeiture of the first night's stay. Reservations require a minimum deposit equal to the first night’s stay at the time of reservations.
This policy applies to all reservation types.
3rd party RVs are not permitted; the guest staying in the RV must be the person driving in the RV.
What Time Is Check-In? What About Check-Out?
Check-in for RV and tent sites begins at 1:00p.m. And check-in for cottages begins at 4:00p.m. The check-out time for all reservations is 11:00a.m.
Do You Offer Late Check-Out?
Depending on availability, our front desk may be able to arrange a late check-out. However, additional fees may apply. Please plan for a prompt departure to help us accommodate our next guests.
When Are Quiet Hours?
Flying Flags at Avila Beach’s quiet hour are 10p.m.–8a.m. Please be courteous to the guests around you. Profanity, violence towards others and destruction of property will not be tolerated. Loud, objectionable noise or amplified music is not allowed at any time. And inconsiderate guests will be asked to leave.
Can I use my generator?
External generators are prohibited on property. Internal, manufacturer built, generators are allowed during the day between 8am and 10pm.
How To Prepare For Your Visit
If you can't live without your creature comforts, feel free to bring a hot plate or microwave. These are not supplied at our property.
I Lost an Item. What Do I Do?
Please report any lost or stolen items to the main office immediately. We recommend keeping valuables locked up at all times.
How Do I Connect to Your Free Wi-Fi?
What Is Your Smoking Policy?
Smoking is prohibited on the entire property. Any violation of our smoking policy may result in a fine of up to $250.
What Is The Grounds Fee?
Every reservation at Flying Flags at Avila Beach requires an additional grounds fee per night included in the rate. Cabin Accommodations have a $22 grounds fee and the RV sites a $12 grounds fee. This fee allows us to maintain our incredible communal amenities, like our beautifully clean bathhouses and our wildly fun, game-filled welcome center.
Pet Policy
Well behaved pets with current shot records are welcome! Please be sure to register all furry friends in your party at arrival. Guests are responsible for picking up after their pets. Please dispose of waste accordingly in a trash receptacle. 2 pets max, 50 lbs. or smaller. A one-time non-refundable pet fee of $50.00 per pet per reservation will apply. For the protection of, and in consideration of our guests, noisy, vicious or unruly pets are not allowed. Guests who are unable to control their pets must remove them from the premises, or the animal may be taken by local animal control authorities. Exotic pets are strictly prohibited.
Golf Carts and Additional Vehicles
Unlicensed personal golf carts are prohibited; street-legal golf carts may be used in place of a personal vehicle. Gas-powered toys, quads, mini-bikes, and skateboards
are not permitted.
One sleeping unit and one passenger vehicle are allowed per site and must be parked completely on the site.
Extra vehicles may be registered for a fee subject to space availability.
Are Open Campfires Allowed?
Wood burning fires are not permitted.
What if I have a visitor (visitor passes and fees)
Visitors are welcome during non-quiet hours 8am-10pm. Additional vehicles subject to additional parking pass fees.
What flags can be displayed while on property.
During your stay with us, you may display country, sport, and vacation flags. However, no flags containing profanity, hateful speech/symbols or confederate flags may be displayed while on property. Guests will be asked for these flags to be removed if they wish to continue their stay at Flying Flags Avila Beach.
When displaying the American Flag, please follow proper flag etiquette which can be found here Guidelines for Display of the Flag (va.gov).
Are 3rd Party RV Drop Offs Allowed?
3rd party RVs are not permitted; the guest staying in the RV must be the person driving in the RV.
What are Jupes?
You might have seen these large tents on property that we call Jupes.
These are spacious units that are 100+ square feet and include a queen-size bed with a Nectar mattress, high ceilings, birchwood flooring, and plenty of storage space. These are equipped with solar panels to generate power for USB charging stations, Wi-Fi network, electrical outlets, and dimmable LED lighting. Windows open for ventilation and light (no air conditioning or heat), and the entryway with a cantilevered porch provides access to our Flying Flags community.
What ADA-Compliant Features Does Flying Flags at Avila Beach Offer?
We've gone to great lengths to ensure that Flying Flags is equally accessible and fully enjoyable for all our guests. Our ADA-compliant property features include:
• ADA-accessible parking near our entrance
• Sufficient parking space to allow a ramp
• Ramp access at all entrances and exits
• Unobstructed pathways from the parking lot to the entrance
• Unobstructed pathways from all of the key points of interest within the hotel to any other key point of interest
• ADA-compliant walk-in showers with seats and adjustable shower heads in select units (call for details)
